About Kimberly Melton
For more than three decades, I have worked at the highest levels of donor intelligence, philanthropic strategy, and institutional advancement. My career has unfolded inside some of New York City's most respected cultural, academic, and philanthropic organizations, including The Metropolitan Opera, New York University, Yeshiva University, Henry Luce Foundation, and CCS Fundraising.
But some of the most meaningful work of my career has happened far beyond large institutional settings. Over the years, I have partnered with emerging nonprofits building their development programs from the ground up, established organizations working to reenergize stalled donor pipelines, and mission-driven leaders seeking clearer strategy, stronger alignment, and sustainable growth.
That breadth of experience shaped my understanding of philanthropy in a profound way. I learned early that wealth screening, analytics, and research are only part of the equation. Data can identify capacity. It cannot reveal conviction. The most successful fundraising strategies emerge when insight is paired with a genuine understanding of what matters most to the people behind the numbers: their values, aspirations, relationships, legacy, and sense of purpose.
I founded KSM Consultancy to bring rigorous donor intelligence together with thoughtful, highly personalized strategy that meets organizations where they are.
I work alongside nonprofit leaders seeking to identify, engage, and cultivate transformational support. And I partner with philanthropists, family offices, and advisors who want their giving to reflect the same intentionality, discipline, and clarity they bring to every other consequential decision in their lives.
